Major improvements to the duck feeding area by the River Holme at Norridge Bottom car park (better known as the Co-op car park) will begin on Thursday 30th November and last to around the middle of December. The plans have been guided by consultation with the public over several months and preparatory work has been supported by volunteers.
The contractors will repair the riverside wall and the tarmac footpath, providing an attractive paved area with new planting which the public can enjoy.
When completed, the work will make the riverside more accessible and protect the river bank from further erosion, whilst improving biodiversity.
The work has been designed and led by River Holme Connections, supported by Kirklees Council and the appointed contractor is GS- GLM.
GET INVOLVED: There will be opportunities to get involved with the planting as well as ask the contractors about the work. Watch this space for more information or contact us: firstname.lastname@example.org / tel: 01484 925529
