Monday evening balsam bash

Jul 30 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Simon, our River Steward, for an evening of balsam bashing* and litter picking.

Himalayan balsam is an invasive, non-native plant species that spreads rapidly and blocks sunlight from native wild plants. We’re aiming to get rid of the Himalayan balsam from our catchment area, which will encourage a more diverse environment for wildlife.

Join in the fun every Monday evening from 23 July to 20 August 2018.

This week we’re meeting at the Catch Pub on Woodhead Road, HD9 2PR.

For health and safety reasons places are limited. If you’re interested in coming along please email or phone Simon to register your interest:

Call 07532 793458 or email riversteward@riverholmeconnections.org

*Please note these tasks will involve wading in the river.
