I live in Holmfirth within the catchment of the River Holme and have various short walks that I enjoy.
One of my favourites takes me up Cemetery Road and onto Brow lane, then left up Hillhouse Road (following the 68 cycle route), and left again up a green byway called Dunsley Road behind Dunsley Farm.
This leads to a well placed bench with wonderful views reaching from the moors down in to Huddersfield and the iconic Castle Hill on the skyline.
The views change with the season but Autumn, with its colours, provides a glorious panorama.
Following this ancient track onto Ward Place Road leads me back onto Cartworth Road and, with wonderful views of the Ribble valley, takes me home.
Do you have a half hour loop in the River Holme catchment area which you could share?
